We believe that CAV Angels is a great opportunity to benefit the UVA entrepreneurial ecosystem while also making a financial return. Although we are not affiliated with or endorsed by UVA, we actively seek to benefit the University and its students in our efforts.

These expert opinions provide our members with the knowledge that “industry insiders” have reviewed and validated our deals.
Right now, we are actively pursuing two different investment opportunities with more in the pipeline-
Founded by Darden ’15 graduates, Relish is a CRM platform for higher education recruiting. Among other interesting aspects, they already have many blue chip, brand name companies recruiting through their technology and earned a lot of press through notable publications. Earlier this week, we celebrated a bridge round investment in Relish and also plan to take part in their next raise in the near future.
HemoShear Therapeutics is a life sciences company that leverages proprietary technology to more efficiently discover drugs to treat broad range of metabolic disorders. With many connections to the UVA medical center and active partnerships with Big Pharma companies, HemoShear is looking to close investors in a larger round.
In addition to these two opportunities, we are accepting applications from a wide variety of other companies: from biotech to fintech and from entrepreneurs just gaining traction to more established companies, we have already seen a myriad of opportunities. These deals can move very quickly, however, so don’t wait until it is too late to join.
